In April 2025 Lenexa voted overwhelming in favor of renewing the 3/8-cent sales tax. This is a vital source of funding we can use through 2048 for critical projects that support the quality of life in Lenexa. The city's Capital Improvement Program includes:
I bring a unique background to support Lenexa. My father was an architect in the Kansas City area and I started reading blueprints on the kitchen counter at a young age. I learned how to read and draw construction documents that eventually led me to working full time for a General Contractor here in Lenexa. For nearly a decade I have been in the infrastructure / construction / design industry - so I am very familiar with reviewing plans, bids, and commercial contracts that will allow us to continue to invest wisely in Lenexa.
We all know times are tough - inflation has impacted families across the country. It is vital that Lenexa continues to take responsible measures to ensure our taxes are spent wisely towards infrastructure and services that support our community.
The Lenexa Approved Budget for 2025 is $246.8 million. The property tax rate is estimated to be 26.970 mills, a decrease of 0.500 mill from the 2024 mill levy of 27.470 mills - that will be the 8th year in a row we have decreased.
When I went to get my MBA at The University of Kansas - I specialized in Finance because I felt that numbers came naturally to me and they can easily be the foundation for understanding often complex problems. Recently, my finance acumen helped me lead the fastest growing team in a multimillion dollar global organization.
Lenexa has a vibrant community that promotes individuals and families of all backgrounds. It is important that the leaders of our city are involved with our community and truly listen to the people.
My wife and I knew Lenexa was home - and chose our house partly because of it's proximity to the Ad Astra Pool. We were incredibly proud of our community that came together and made their voices heard.
If you have concerns about our city - I promise to listen. I want to learn about what your priorities are and how I can help.
